KINDLE HACK

In your Amazon account, find ‘Account & Lists’ at the top of your page and in the drop-down menu, click ‘Create a List.’

Give your list a new name. For this example, I’m naming my new list ‘Kindle List Example.’ Then click ‘Create List.’

You will see your new list under the tab ‘Your Lists.’ Now you need to populate this list with books.

Search for any book you want. For your desired book, click the Kindle version. Then somewhere on the page you will see a tab that says ‘Add to List.” When you click that list, a drop down menu will appear with all your lists. Choose the list where you want this Kindle book to be placed. Continue to populate your list with books.

To look at your list, go to your front page, find ‘Account & Lists’ at the top of your page and in the drop-down menu, click the list you want.

You will see all the books you’ve added to the list. On the right side, look for the ‘Filter & Sort’ button. One of the drop-down items is ‘Price (low to high).’ You will then see your books priced from lowest to highest. Publishers will sometimes reduce a book in price and using the ‘Price (low to high)’ toggle, you can see very quickly which books have come down in price.

As you are scrolling, you can see the low price and a line that says “Price dropped *%”.

A few notes…

• I have several lists. Because I’m a fan of Bible commentaries, I use separate lists for different commentary series.

• I check my lists on a daily basis. Sometimes a reduced price is only good for a day, sometimes for two weeks.

• Sometimes a reduced price is only a few cents and still may not be at a price you are willing to pay.

• For me, most of the books on my lists are about $15-$20 and I wait until the price drops into the $3-$5 range. Sometimes it drops, sometimes it never drops.

• If I see a book reduced at a really good price, I will still purchase it even though I may not read it for some time.
